SX40 Release date

Hi guys.

I'm looking at buying the Nikon P500 at the end of the month (August 2011) but want to wait for the SX40. Does anyone have a official release date for the SX40 or even just the "feature set" that will come with it.

I believe all these rumours are only rumours and no more.

If not then it would be great to have some kind of "source" just to be sure that it's not
"air".
I would like to buy a new Canon super Zoom.. but maybe I will end buying a old one.

The Nikon P500 is a lot better than the Canon SX30, but then again... its newer. My gut feeling tells me that the SX40 will out shine the Nikon, especially if some of the rumors are true.

I need to buy a new cam and I am Canon user..

We're in the same boat. I'm in the market for a new bridge camera. If the don't mention it on Tuesday or even the features that will come with it, I'm going to go with the Nikon P500.
