Hey everyone. I thought I would repost this since it's more relevant now: How do you think the Canon T4i will compare to the 60D? Just curious.

Compare to do what? The ergonomic advantages of the 60d still appliy, the touchscreen won't change that, so it's really a matter of usage scenario. But unless the sensor is seriously upgraded in dr or noise, people who can cough up the price difference should be still well-advised to get the xxd - which runs magic lantern. That is unless you want live view af, but we still need to see how it actually performs.

I do not see many reasons for the 60d if you can wait. the viewfinder will be still better, and the body bigger, but for me the latter is a disadvantage ;)

650d will have digic5, meaning better jpegs normally even with the same sensor. in camera hrd, etc.

maybe the 60d will be cheaper than the 650d, or same price.

still a question the AF though, but it is rumored to be equal too.

And for the first few months, there wont be a price difference (acually, 60D may be a bit cheaper). You can get a 60D w/ 18-135 refurb for $830ish+tax, T4i will probably retail for $899 or $999 with the 18-55 kit lens. I'd rather have the 60D's ergonomics and button layout unless the video AF is some revelation (Magic Lantern will hit the T4i fast enough).

If you have or can find a broken Canon P&S, a refurb 60D body will only set you back $688 through the Canon Loyalty Program. Touch screen is a non-starter for me, I'm not a big fan of them. Having a stable version of Magic Lantern available is a plus. YMMV.

I wouldn't be so sure there - they've just proven that ml runs on a digic5 ("Hello, World") but development will take some time, I guess at least a year if there are any non-trivial changes to be done. And since ml is essentially developed by 2-3 people, they may target the 5d3 first. So: If you want ml, get a single digic4 body.
