The final firmware update for the EOS 5D Mark II?

Will the .5 year old firmware version 2.1.2 be the last and final official for the EOS 5D Mark II? The camera is still in Canon’s camera lineup and has not been discontinued. Please share your thoughts.

The camera does not support the *** receiver or update the lens firmware which is mostly needed for the 40mm pancake lens owners.

See the major firmware update for the EOS 7D, may the 5D2 too old to get some items of it?

Dont hold your breath. Canon did what they did for marketing reasons. The 5Dii is a dead man walking.
That said....i love mine, just got another!

Canon usually supports a camera for several years after it goes out of production. However, adding new features to a out of production camera is unlikely in the extreme.

What does it hurt or cost Canon to send out an update for a premier camera that has been very popular and is still for sale as new product? It is very good PR IMO.

Hopefully they've fixed everything wrong after five years...and they aren't going to touch Magic Lantern for new features...so enjoy as-is or enjoy with ML.
