Viewfinder eyepiece question

Nikon's have a way of shutting out light through the viewfinder via their eye piece. With Canon we have to use the device on the strap, or a piece of gaffers tape. Does Canon or anyone else make an eyepiece for Canon with a similar mechanism as Nikon?

Canon has a VF shutter on their 1-series bodies. Before getting one, I just hung the lens cap on the eyecup of my 5DII, 7D, and T1i.

Neuro, Thanks. I'll give that a try and see how it works. I got one of the early order 5D3s so I guess I need to check the serial number and check with Canon to see if it was one of the ones that needed the black adhesive tape repair. :-o

If you're using your original Canon strap there is an eyepiece cover attached to it. See the instructions at the bottom of this page:
