Hah, but you forget that the price of $3500 was part of the specs too. And having the lowest priced body start at $3500 is more of a good way to quickly go out of business than a Nikon-slaying strategy.
IMHO, 18 MP was already stretching it on a crop sensor camera, anything over that would be overkill. I want High ISO performance to be improved over my T2i, not remain the same, or perform worse.
