As far it seems to be dependent on the digics amount: 1 digic - works, 2 digics - doesn't work.

Yes, and I guess ml will work on the 6d - *if* Canon doesn't decide to disable the boot flag mechanism to run 3rd party firmware, they could very well to that to add a secret feature to the 5d3. Canon could also enforce a digital signature on firmware-on-card so only they can use it for development or debugging.

Yes, there are some ways to disable ML at all. But I haven't seen a single Canon official statement which would be against ML. The only time I've heard anything from Canon about that was a sentence of Chuck W. in interview (with Planet5 as I remember) that "Canon doesn't comment on third party software". The conclusion is: if they don't forbid it, nor warn too much, so they don't see it as a threat, rather something useful and making their gear more valuable.
On the other hand - if they would like to see ML running on 7D or 1DX, they could show ML team how the two digics instances work togeter.
I can imagine another A or S company, which would sue such a team long time ago, close everything, sign it twice and force to report each case of trying to run there anything except original firmware. I remember a mobile phone Siemens SL 45 which was so valuable and appreciated because they let mod it, so there were hundreds of unofficial firmwares on the net. The opposite Sony's example with PS3 forbidding install Linux anymore has proved, that it's not the path their users community would like to follow.
So thanks Canon anyway for letting this coexistence.

Hopefully they sell it around $1K to $1.3K second-hand now that D600 is around $2.1K brand-new. :)
Not sure that the D600 is gonna apply any pressure to the price for the 5dII. Now, releasing the 6D will, as a bunch of people might upgrade. More likely, it'll be a lot of rebel and 60D's hitting the market
