Which Sigma Lense?

Hello Guys,

I only used canon-rumors for the rumors till now^^ now I would like to hear your opinion on my question :)

So firstly I would like to replace my Kit-Lense. The 18-55 IS II !
I like to do Landscape and Architecture photos, for that I bought the 10-18 IS STM, but sometmes 18mm is too short, so I would like to buy a lense which continues the 10-18 with a good image quality.
(I own a Canon 600D, 10-18, the Kit, 50mm 1.8 and 70-300 VC USD)

I was thinkin about:

Sigma 17-50 f/2.8 OS HSM or
Sigma 18-35 f/1.8 HSM

Besides Landscape and Architecture, I wanna do soe Astro-shots and I am going on a helicopter trip over Chicago at twilight/sunset.

So to get the best result in general landscape fotography + the two "temporary" fields, which lense would you recommend?
Does the OS helps in an Helicopter? Is the Aperature 2.8 enough? or should i rely on the 1.8 for all the occasions?

As a help maybe my already taken pics can show you what kind of photos I do, so its easier to judge which lense works better.

Nice shots.

The 18-35 f/1.8 is so cool it is hard to get excited about the 17-50 2.8 lens.

You have a 50mm prime for when you need 50 mm.

I would do the 18-35 1.8. With a crop sensor you cant use ISO's as high as on full frame with as good an image quality. The wider 1.8 aperture buys you an entire stop of light you can use to get decent shutter speed wih tout having to use the higher ISO and the IQ penalties that come with it.

And at wide focal lengths like 18-35 you keep a pretty thick depth of field, so it is much more practical to work with than a more razor-thin DOF you'd get on a 50 or 85mm lens wide open at f/1.8.

Well the astro shots arent that important for me. The only big problem would only be, when I am on the helicopter and dont get nice shots because of the high ISO caused from the 2.8, but in general that actually would be enough... so is there maybe another lense besides these two that might fit better? Because the ART Lense costs really a lot :/
