If you check the DXO pro website, there is a pdf, with 60D and all the lens are full frame, no AFS lens are compatible with it

Nah, I do not agree with this. I believe that even if it’s annonced today or in a few weeks, there won’t be much changes in sales. Consumers will buy it when they can have it, either or not it’s sync with the begining of the academic year. and schools already have old crappy gear OR the 5d mk2. So a 2-3 weeks difference won’t affect the 60D.

To be honest, I never thought the fall release made much sense. I know lots of people would be excited to rush out and get a new model before a major summer vacation, releasing in May would make a lot more sense to me. At least for xxD and 5 series. Perhaps Rebels might be more prone to holiday sales and with 1 series neither makes a difference, but for xxD and 5 and perhaps Rebel….

*Newsflash*!. Canon unveils the add on “Direct Print Button”. At the request of many, the DPB is now available as an add on item for all DSLR’s. There is no limit on how may can be added.

Among the 1D, xD, xxD, xxxD digital cameras of Canon, it seems that the xxD new camera is always be expected mostly, comparaing to the other series.

The reason is that the 50D was announced 12 months after the 40D. Now it’s been 12 months since the 50D was announced…
1D are for pros who are too busy working to hang around on CRs. :P
XD don’t come out that often (though the 5DII was VERY anticipated).
XXD are enthusiast cameras that are reasonably affordable. Therefore a lot more people who would bother waiting for a new camera (and hang about on CRs etc.) anticipate it because, well, more of them want to buy it.
XXX/XXXXD cameras are (dare I say it) “beginner” DSLRs so they’re mainly bought be people who don’t care too much about the latest and greatest camera (not enough to hang about on CRs etc.).
New Powershots and photocopiers I tells ya. :P

The 1D Mk IV is important because Canon need to be seen to lead the way, but ultimately the replacement for the 50D is really what matters.
At the moment the D300 wipes it’s butt with the 50D because there is simply no comparison, particularly with the latest video upgrade to the D300. The 5D is not a good comparison because if I want to take 5+ fps, the 5D is not an option for me, while the D300 can take up to 8fps.
60D is ready to come out, probably announced today.
If you go to canon website then click in the ad with the yellow car (advertisement to you connect)then in the option select cameras and then when you go to see the model, you will find out that 60D is already listed there.

If Canon really want to make an impact I would like to see APS-H on the 60D/7D and run it as a slightly dumbed down version of a 1D Mk IV), but with 15.1MP and up to 8fps. Sales of the 1D should not be materially affected as it’s a pros camera and the pros will still want the best available to them, regardless of whether that will cost them another couple of grand.

The XXD line will never be APS-H , its owners are the bread and butter market for EF-S lenses , which , due to intrusion into the mirror box, wont work on either full frame or APS-H equipped bodies, the mirror assembly for those sensors is simply too big.
As for the D300 comments, I can guarantee I could show you a dozen prints from the D300, 40D, 50D , D90 , and you could not pick which camera produced which image.
