It’s got a huge barrel distortion I hear. People complain it holds too much coffee but it does not stay hot for long, on the other hand the Nikon version holds almost no coffee that stays hot for longer.

Someone should take this great idea and start mass producing these in China. What about whole lineup of Canon/Nikon lensmugs? Carry your coffee or tea in your favourite lensmug. I’d choose Canon 50mm f/0.95!

The Sigma version may have inaccuracies in focusing the coffee into your mouth.
Does the IS prevent it from tipping over and spilling your drink?
I would like to have a 600mL version of this… hopefully this is not a 70-200ml 2.8 ;)
And you can only hope, that your version won’t be decentrated, otherwise drinking could become difficult. Also I’m concerned about the CAs (coffee aberrations)

I’m disappointed that the only filters it takes are coffee filters. Makes it hard to shoot through.
Sure? Rather dangerous having one of these around for a photographer. Imagine, early morning, going shooting outdoors during winter, you wake up at 6:00… and fill the wrong one with hot coffee… :-)
Question: is a L-glass hot coffee-resistant?

I kinda think it sucks that they didn’t think to give these away to some of the loyal Canon buyers. I just spent $17,000 on Canon gear, but obviously that wasn’t enough to warrant a free $20 mug..lol!!
NO, NO, NO, don’t buy one yet if you find one on eBay or elsewhere! Turns out there’s a major flaw… the mug DECAFFEINATES your coffee. Canon is working on firmware 1.0.4 right now to correct the issue. An insider told me that the firmware will be ready by March 29th, and made available to the public the week after Thanksgiving.
Until then, just put tape over rim and turn the lid to the left a half inch and you’ll be able to manually re-caffienate your goat cheese low-fat latte.

essential upgrade. A couple of good shots of coffee will get you MUCH sharper shots than ANY lens upgrade!
Oh I forgot; if it’s coming from Canon USA, forget it….you could barely call that coffee what you serve over there! ;)

Canon should really put a “points” program into effect, where when you register gear you accumulate points to buy novelty items such as this. Spending $10,000 in gear gets you a mug, spending $20,000 in gear gets you a 1D-shaped toaster!

Quite interesting statement. I can find it be the case in spite of this not commonly.
