Laowa announced the 10mm F2.8 Zero-D FF that supports autofocus for the Sony and Nikon mounts, but not the L or RF mount. At 10mm though, I doubt you need autofocus that much, to be honest.

We had previously told you this lens was coming, and now it's officially out with some prices and timelines. Laowa states that they will start shipping this lens in a little over two weeks from this article around mid-March and ship according to the order number priority.

The Canon RF lens is available for $799 (which is even better than we estimated) in either a 5 or 14-blade aperture design and as we had noted before, the MTF looks incredible for a 10mm full frame lens. I'm pretty confident that this lens should be also very good at coma as well given how the MTF appears, but it's always good to wait for test results.

You can purchase Laowa products from B&H Photovideo as well, you can order this lens directly from Laowa here.

  1. looking forward to see some reviews - and the difference of the 5 vs 14 blades variant.

    Who needs AF for 10mm 2.8 ???
    - You set the lens @1,9m and you'll have all in focus between 1m and infinity.
    - For landscape shooters f/8: focus @ 0.7m and all is sharp between 0.4m and infinity.
  2. Interesting. I wonder if the RF version will have any electronic contacts. My 12mm Laowa does not. But with Canon starting to allow third party soon, maybe that will be in the works.
  3. Maybe this is an obvious question but why would I want the 5 vs the 14 blade aperture version?
There will be a different esthetic with boke and sun stars.

I thought people always want more round and more rays, but at least with the latter I can see why not.
