Another patent application for a Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS has appeared within what appears to be a patent for the RF 28-70mm f/2L.

From Japan Patent Application 2019015956:

  • Focal length: 24.69 37.63 67.88
  • F-number: 2.91 2.91 2.91
  • Half angle of view: 41.23° 29.90° 17.68°
  • Image height: 21.64 21.64 21.64
  • Lens total length: 139.21 150.29 171.74

Canon has already let us know that they're hard at work on the “holy trinity” of pro zoom lenses for the RF mount. We expect all three lenses to be announced in 2019.
