“better brand” is meaningless. USM is worth something though.
The Tamron autofocus is a crap.
At 17mm f/2.8 it ALWAYS miss the focus… too bad.
Sure, it has VC, but does it have a ring-type USM-equivalent with full-time manual, or that crappy, noisy DC gear motor again?
But what I don’t like on the canons 17-55 f/2.8 IS USM is that the zoom ring isnt going smooth and the plastic body.
Depending on price this lens could be a winner, I’d be happy to sell my non VC version for this if the price is right.
