When the first reports came out about a Canon EOS R6 Mark II in the near-term pipeline, we were a bit sceptical, but we are finally confident that a Canon EOS R6 Mark II is definitely coming sooner than later.

A very good source has sent us some basic specifications of what we can expect from the Canon EOS R6 Mark II.

Canon EOS R6 Mark II Specifications (Rumored)

  • 24mp Full-frame CMOS Sensor
  • In-body stabilization
  • 12fps Mechanical
  • 4K 30p (No Crop)
  • 4K 60p (Cropped. The EOS R6 is a 1.1x crop)
  • Canon Log 3/HDR PQ
  • Dual Pixel CMOS AF
  • SD/SDHC dual card slot
  • Not much change in the form factor over the original EOS R6

We are not sure if the image sensor in these specifications is a version of the sensor in the Canon EOS R3. We think that this would be highly probable.

There are some similarities between these specifications and what was reported yesterday about a Canon EOS R8.  Do we have some specification overlap? Are there two cameras on the near horizon? We're not sure at the moment. That said, this information about the Canon EOS R6 Mark II should be considered extremely reliable.

These are early rumored specifications, as such, there is obviously a lot missing here.

We hope to have further clarity in the coming days.

More to come…
