Lensrentals.com has released their yearly list of the most rented gear in their inventory. Not surprisingly, the list is dominated by Canon and Sony.

2Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II12Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS Macro

9Canon EOS 6D19Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II
10Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L20Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III

A couple of things on the surprise me, firstly the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the lens, and if you're shooting sports, the IS really isn't needed. The second surprise for me is how high on the list the EF 50mm f/1.2L is, I didn't think it would be outrenting the EF 85mm f/1.2L II or the EF 100-400mm f/4-5.6L IS II.

Looking at the list, I think Canon is still doing pretty well in the United States, and it's going to take a lot more from Sony to surpass Canon in marketshare.
