New Information
The Canon EOS-1D X has been given an official weight. The camera will weigh 1530g, which is 160g heavier than the Canon EOS-1D Mark IV.
The camera is also set to ship at the end of April, 2012.

Below is Canon's claimed performance of the new battery in the EOS-1D X.
- View Finder shooting at 73°F/23°C Approx. 1120 shots
- View Finder shooting at 32°F/0°C Approx. 860 shots
- Live View shooting at 73°F/23°C Approx. 290 shots
- Live View shooting at 32°F/0°C Approx. 250 shots)
Your old 1D Mark III, 1D Mark IV and 1Ds Mark III batteries will still work in the new camera. New regulations have forced Canon to redesign the battery for the 1D X. I am very happy that they have made this possible.
