  • Speedlites are also on rebate during the same period.

    Speedlite 580EX II $50
    Speedlite 430EX $30
    Speedlite 430EX II $30

  • How does the instant rebates work? I just check J&R web site. They are not mentioning anything about the rebates.

  • Still waiting for european rebates, cant hold on much longer, held my breath since Canadian rebates, have gone blue, and blacked out twice…! Still waiting though. :-)

  • Are we still expecting camera rebates – bad economy, weak Christmas sales expected, $ a bit stronger, blah blah?

  • It usually takes a couple of days for the rebates to show up on web sites, but if they are an authorized dealer, they normally apply them.

Some dealers merely post a new lower price. The 70-200mm f/2.8 IS $1699 regular street price – $130 = $1574.99 for example.

The rebates are usually accompanied by a price increase, so expect to pay more after the rebate is over.

  • With the much larger and expanded rebates in Canada, plus the current exchange rates, lenses in Canada are a worthwhile savings for the high end models.

The following rates were based on the $.8378 closing rate of October 20. The rate is dropping more to day, currently .8199 cad = 1.00 US so the cost is almost 2% lower today.

For example, a 300mm f:/2.8 is USD $3728 after rebate and exchange rate while the USA prices at B&H is $4100. Save $372.

    A 400mm f:/5.6 is $986.93 from Canada, B&H price: $1140. Save $153

    The 400mm f:/2.8 is $6041 from Canada, B&H Price $6800. Save $750

I took lens prices from “The Camera Store” in canada.
