How You Helped Make The New Duzi Slider from Cinevate on Vimeo.

Cinevate just upgraded their very popular Duzi slider and created a simple way to do sliding time-lapses!

The Duzi is now available with 24″ or 32″ rails. The locking system has been upgraded to allow you to lock anywhere on the rails. Some other features include an integrated bubble level, a new wheel profile, and a toolless fastener on the ends to attach to c-stands. Cinevate has also packaged the upgrades into a kit for those who already own a Duzi slider. The Duzi slider has a load capacity of 120 lbs; however, I just saw a video on Cinevate's Facebook page where the CEO, Dennis Wood, stands on top of it. Nice to see a CEO that stands behind–or should I say on top–of their product.

Now the interesting part that made my jaw drop was the time-lapse add-on. It appears in the video as if Cinevate is that kid on the playground that knows something huge but is keeping it a secret for a little longer while grinning mischievously. They tease us with little hints of what it is and what it can do but no real details of how. We must simply assume its magic.

But here's what I've found out:

The Duzi time lapse module will be called ‘Modo'. We'll have it up for pre-order in about 7-10 days. It's designed as a super simple time lapse add-on, required no electrical power, programming, belts, etc. It is pretty happy up to 10lbs of camera. Construction is CNC machined aluminum, laser'd branding, internal ball bearings etc. with our usual very high build quality. As you can see in the video, it's very simple to use.”
    —CEO Dennis Wood

The Modo is just super cool and smart. The new Duzi is sturdy and portable. To be able to quickly go out and set up for a sliding time-lapse is amazing. Unfortunately, there is no word on price at this time for the Modo module. We will just have to wait a week to find out.

Let us know what you think of this new slider and time-lapse tool.

The Duzi Slider V3 is starts at $419.00 and the Upgrade Kit is $185.00
