An EF mount! But don't tell anybodyI dont see how Canon makes a video spec machine in an RF body that beats this thing.
I mean, what... a 1:1 pixel readout (12MP like the sony a7s) but with all the same specs otherwise as the R5? Why bother?
i think Canon intended this to be the absolutely everything camera. I dont know what else you Viably could cram into a dedicated video MILC body that the R5 doesnt already sport.
I don't, but maybe the same person invented Velcro...And how do you know he didn't invent the thing?
I haven't shot it wide open so I haven't checked the focus accuracy. I'll try it at 5x or 10x magnification.A Canon tube came with my camera. I don't think the accuracy of the 3rd party adapters is a issue, pretty simple to make them. I've tried it with numerous lenses. The focus accuracy is pretty poor relying on the peaking, I can do much better using 5X magnification without the peaking. I also used a old mirror lens and focus accuracy using peaking was worse.
nope. you brought the reference to indoor sports. I was thinking more of budget-limited birders/wildlife/zoo shooters, who often have/had a 7D series camera.
totally agree here. External hot-shoe hugging EVF would likely break off within first week of my regular use - unfortunately i do run into protruding edges and things, hurting myself and or my gear. ;-)
Ahh. Those are quite useful; thanks. While I invariably shoot with both cards, I close the door (so it does not get broken) when I have removed card 2 to download into laptop (it's easier; my Mac has an SD slot); and that is probably when it gets switched back to writing memos to card 1.
Definitely at the low end of any realistic guesses, heck I was $5,000 too high! So yes, for those in the market a very pleasant surprise, wonder if they will do a C500 II kit?I was pleasantly surprised by the price(and impressed with the specs). I admit, I would have been skeptical if the original rumor had said “sub-$30K”.
You are definitely not Tony NorthropI am with you, it was really hard for me to decide this year whether I should use Canon's trade-in discount to get me a 5D VI. I did it, but it was really hard for me to hand out my beloved, battered sort of war-horse 5D III. With more than 150.00 actuations it still worked nicely.
Go to the ISO speed settings in your menu. By default, the Min shutter speed is set to Auto which is equal to the reciprocal of the focal length, i.e. 1/50th for 50mm. Set it to manual and then you can set a minimum shutter speed as long a one second. Is there any setting within the time lapse function of the EOS R that would allow me to capture an outdoor scene that goes from day to night? I set the time lapse to re-evaluate the exposure for each frame, but there still seems to be a limit to how much the camera can (or will) adjust exposure during a time lapse. Initially I just set the time lapse video mode to smart auto, thinking it could adjust shutter speed, aperture, and ISO as much as it needed to maintain a good exposure. However, the shutter in auto mode seems to max out at what the camera feels would be a safe shutter speed for hand-held shooting. Is there a way to adjust this? Obviously pretty much any time lapse will be taken with a camera being held totally stationary, so it's frustrating that the camera cannot seem to allow me to set it to use shutter speeds slower than a hand held shutter speed. I even tried setting it to shutter speed priority mode and forcing it to use a 1 second shutter at all times. I figured I could put an ND filter in front of the camera during the day, and then remove it at night. However for some reason I don't think the camera varies the aperture in time lapse mode when the camera is set to shutter priority setting.
anywhere from 30cm to 1m ... any more questions?
And apparently, only in mass quantities.True, they're not flying off the shelves, but they are selling in mass quantities.
OK - I went back and viewed some of your panos that way - it's awesome! It's humbling to me to think that a spherical pano that good could be taken with 4 pictures & no tripod on a camera that small & light, and with unobstructed zenith & nadir view, too! I've loved taking conventional panos for really hires pictures to hang on a wall, but now you've got me wondering about getting into spherical panos for the real-time user interaction they offer. I guess I'll be wondering what's the best lens for that on an upcoming R5!Google Photos does that natively after clicking on panorama. Plus lots of panorama viewer or tour maker software. Starting from that's included into PTGUI.
My apologies. I don't know how that happened. Here is the corrected link. Fixing it in my previous post as well.Did you intend to link something other than the first page of this post?
