Canon EOS R5 Mark II Firmware v1.1.0 Now Available (Update: Firmware has been pulled)

the password stuff is as rumored earlier. i think folks will like setting the preshooting depth. i didnt see a custom button assignment for preshooting. i think the mode for shooting through a net (maybe fence also) will be cool.

I loaded the new R5MkII firmware from the Hong Kong site. Not sorry about it. Works just fine so far. I don't use larger then a 512gb card so the known issue isn't going to effect me. I also rarely shoot any video either. So far the overall focus seems to work just fine as it did before with 1.0.3.

Applied the new firmware to my R5 II, that is suffering from multiple problems. Nothing has changed. Still AF is NOT working properly, and the batteries are drained heavily as before. Just war on an bird challange in my hide in the morning. 650 shots, 2 fully loaded batteries inside. After about 500 shots the green H+ went off.... now battery indicator is blinking.
And the AF... OMG... Just deleted almost all shots, as the Af stucks on the background (and not on the 80% of the viewinder filling osprey). What a miss.
Why does canon not fix all the problems that are outside before adding new features?
(Being sorry for beeing REALLY dissatisfied by my favourite fotographis-brand)

Have you tried the fixes that have worked for some others here, like disabling sleep modes etc? (It's no consolation to you that my R5ii has excellent AF and the problems seem specific to some but not all bodies.)

It's still only on the German website by the way - see here.

Edit: Curious to see that some features (Panning Assist, Finder Display Priority and more) are *not* listed in the German firmware change-log. What the hell?

Any guinea pigs that want to share their experience with 1.1.0.? I would love to see the new Pre-Shoot-Features.

Looks like the actual CDN links don't work when you try to download. So any other canon website that still has it listed also won't work.

Yes, I disabled the sleep mode, disabled a lot other features (eye-AF e.g.). Canon does not find an problem at all, but states, it is suffering from AF problems. Solution: Maybe Firmware update. The fixed MB is ok.
I have AF issues as well. What other things can I try that apparently have been discussed on this forum before?

Geez all these folks bellyaching about this issue or that problem. I'm problem free and even jumped into the 1.1.0 firmware update. No changes. Still perfect in all regards. NO focus issues, NO Lockups. I'm wondering if indeed Canon may have used some 3rd party parts to move their production forward and in doing so have had issues in the motherboard operations. Mine skipped that issue I guess. Some have not apparently.

My second R5 II was delivered 3 days ago. With firmware 1.0.3
After extensive testing, I didn't find any AF issues. As to battery drain, I'll have to wait for some more discharge/charge cycles.
Yet, I see no reason for me to download 1.1.0, I'll rather wait for a firmware that officially addresses AF and battery drain.
I don't want to risk incapacitating working cameras...

Gratulation to your working body. Sometimes the old saying "Never change a working system" is right.
Let´s see what Canon replies to my question, when an update with solved problem will appear.
