EF lens adapter on mirrorless body

Like many i have a bunch of EF lenses, and I'm going to make the switch to a mirrorless body. What effect (if any) will the adapter have on focal length for my existing lenses. For example, the EF 11-24 L..will i still get 11mm or is this essentially like putting on an extension tube which is going to change the focal length. I may sell my 24-70 and buy and RF, but many of the lenses i have aren't available RF mount yet (not to mention the expense in doing this).

Thanks.

An adapter will never change the focal length – that’s intrinsic to a lens.

The angle of view (or if you prefer, the equivalent focal length) changes with sensor size. So, if you adapt your 11-24 to a FF MILC it remains 11-24mm, but if you adapt it to an EOS M the equivalent would be 17-38mm, if you adapt to a m4/3 MILC it would be equivalent to 22-48mm, etc.
