To avoid condensation, the lens shouldn't be colder than the surrounding air.
So if you've been outside in the cold and bring it back inside, but it into a camera bag or cover it with a blanket so that here is just a little amount of warm air surrounding it.
Of course, this will increase the time to warm it up again, but it'll also avoid internal condensation that is quite difficult to get out again.
In principle that should work, but...
Any kind of lubrication and greasing stuff inside the lens also contains some amount of water.
You will dry that out as well, and the lubricant might not work properly any more.
So don't leave it too long inside the bag.
