I’m rationalising my modern kit to Voigt 20, Canon 24 IS & 50, and what?
I’m selling the great but heavy 70-300L, should I look for one of the newer plastic fantastic zooms, or maybe a 100 or 135 prime for a bit of speed.
I have 6D & 100D bodies giving me 20/24/50/??? on full frame and crop...
That's great news - I'm really enjoying my 100D (SL1) both as a lightweight option for when I dont need the performance of full frame, and to give each of my full frame lenses and extra purpose in life. :D
Thanks for that encouragement, my faith in policing was restored when my car was recovered two years ago. In previous times I had experienced police stations trying to pass me around and get the crime reported elsewhere.
I'm expected bf that the lens is safely stowed for a while before being...
I have specialist photo insurance. However, the theft happened during new year celebrations, by someone allowed into my home for the first time. He won't be returning, obviously.
I'm pretty sure that won't be covered by insurance under the circumstances but I will be absolutely sure before...
My Canon 70-300L has sadly been taken from my house along with some of my long term vintage bodies and lenses. My big (for me) white is recognisable by missing paint on the underside close to the mount. There is also a Canon W-II foot fitted. When taken it was in a black soft padded Think Tank...
I think that has already arrived as the M5. I'm happy with my 100D(SL1) alongside my 6D, but know that the EF-M mount has a much longer future ahead of it. If I was buying today I would be looking at the M5 and waiting for the price to drop.
I have the SL1, chosen over the M series for several reasons:
1. It's able to share lenses with my 6D when carrying both bodies - without any need to fumble with an adapter
2. It's light - I'm happy to carry it in my bag everyday without feeling the weight, either with the kit lens or a...
Now, if the f/whatever IS should have 1:2 close focus, that would get my money. If it comes in the seemingly forthcoming full frame EF-M mount, then it would prompt my upgrade to the new system.
Early next year I will be flying to Sydney with a fuel stop at Dubai. I have been to Sydney before, but the fuel stop was at Singapore.
Can anyone who knows that journey recommend a suitable lens for capturing the Dubai skyline on the descent and then the climb back into the sky? Would a...
I have just printed and framed a 2 megapixel image at A4 for a friend. It looks great, providing that I dont reach for the magnifying glass. I'm sure that A3 would stretch the resolution a little far, but then 3 megapixels would do.
I remember the rubbish output from the 1 and 2 megapixel...
+1
Now if Canon can give a second life to the existing sensor from the 1DX in a low spec low price full frame body, then I may be tempted to update my 6D. Otherwise I will be covetous of the A7 II
USB3 is fast enough that you will see the difference in speed of the drive inside the case. That of course depends on the drive in the computer being equally fast.
It's certainly possible, the internal diameter of the EF-M mount is larger than it is for Leica M or Sony FE. Full frame works for them. See dimensions at https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lens_mount.
There are lots of possibilities out there. If Canon have the sense to build in their EVF, then I...
Roll on the G17. Meanwhile I'm always surprised by the IQ of the images my mother takes with her G15 'handbag camera'. The current G16 is the same but with a few bells and whistles.
I'm disappointed by the lack of built in viewfinder of X series G cameras. The built analogue VF of the G15 is...
