    70-200 F/4 IS repair cost

Ouch! I have this exact problem with mine and was getting ready to send it in for a quote. I bought this one used for what the repair would cost. That sucks! :-(

    MP-E 65mm - High Difficulty Level

Yeap! That's the one. Someone mentioned flat light, which can be an issue on larger subjects, but with this flash you can set the ratio for each side. When something is the size of an ant, for example, having one side of the ring flash brighter than the other adds depth and shadows. I rather...

    MP-E 65mm - High Difficulty Level

Flash is a must with that lens. I have found a Yongnuo ring flash (not LED) that works a treat. The attached image was at 5:1 handheld, but I usually prop the end of the ring flash on something and rock the camera until I see the eye come in focus and snap. The other key is to take as many...

Very true! I actually downloaded the manual from the thread in the other forum which pointed to Canon Asia. I just replied here since it was the M forum. ;-)

    EOS M5 User Guide

I hope I just missed it but no intervalometer? I have the M3 and was really hoping for that functionality in this one. I do see you can use a remote trigger now but would still love it built in (so much easier and less things to fuss with in the dark). Patiently waiting for the reviews to...

    In praise of the M3

I read all the reviews and determined the things most people were complaining about didn't really worry me so I bought it anyway. Glad I did! I find it to be a wonderful little camera and when combined with the 22mm f/2, I really enjoy it! I took it on vacation along with my 5DSr and found I...

Picked up 5DS R - specialist tool. How about everyday?

Agreed! But surprisingly again, I managed some great BIF shots recently. For me personally, I've just had to change how I shoot. With the 7D it was "spray and pray" at that awesome 10 FPS. Now, I just try much harder to push the shutter at the right moments. It has made culling a lot easier...

Picked up 5DS R - specialist tool. How about everyday?

I sold a 7D Mark II which was my wildlife camera as well as a 6D and now use my 5DSr as my primary body. I frequently handhold a 500mm f/4 with 1.4x and find my images to be super sharp. Feather and fur details in the animals often astound me to be honest. I can crop to such a level that I do...

5DsR: Noise at high ISO like film grain?

I find the noise of my 5DSr to be very pleasing, specially in B&W. I've heard others call it "film like" and I wouldn't disagree.

Telephoto Lenses IS Stays On with M3

That's what I've been doing but I've not seen a camera do this before. Seems if you turn off continuous AF it should also turn off IS. I also have a spare battery and I usually only use one shot.

Telephoto Lenses IS Stays On with M3

That's unfortunate! I guess the IS on the other two lenses is just too quiet to hear. Wish I had read about that prior to purchasing. Thanks!!

Telephoto Lenses IS Stays On with M3

Hey Gang! I just recently picked up a M3 to play around with. I'm hoping it could be my "everyday" camera so I don't have to tote around my 5DSr everywhere. Anyway, last night I tried my 70-200 f/4 IS on it and the IS was staying on constantly. I have continuous AF turned off and couldn't...

Getting sharp pictures with 7DII - need advice please

I have owned the 7D Mark II since launch. Had a 60D prior to that (never had soft focus on it). From day one I had soft focus issues but wrote it off to user error for several months (because it would hit focus sometimes). After getting a 6D and NOT having any issues with same lenses, I...

Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM

Taken just this past weekend. Question for everyone though (I don't know anyone personally that owns this lens). I bought mine used and it makes a LOT of IS noise and also seems to "clunk" a lot. From what I have gathered that is fairly normal for this lens due to its overall age. It just...
