In the UK the 5D MKIII costs £3000 (~4800 USD), i.e. is very expensive compared to the US.
Simply Electronics have it for £2250 (~3600 USD), can anybody see any issues with buying it from these people.
I have purchased flashguns and extenders from them, and everything has been okay.

Wow that's 11-$1200 more than it's here in Canada. :o

I have used Simply Electronics in the past. While I didn't have any problems, I wouldn't necessarily recommend them. It took quite a while to ship, which for me at the time wasn't a problem. However a work colleaugue did want something quickly, then tried cancellling the order when it became delayed and had problems getting a prompt refund, he got the money eventually, but not as quick as he would have expected. Also, they give the impression it's UK stock on the website, but the long shipping times and other things suggest otherwise.

DON'T DO IT!!

I recently ordered a 7D from Simply Electronics. Their site said it was in stock. 10 days after ordering, it still hadn't shipped. I called and emailed them several times, always got the same stock emails back with no definitive answers and evasive responses to stock queries. Eventually, I got their QA agents Kwikchex involved. They also failed to get any shipping info / dates from Simply Electronics on my behalf so on my instruction, they cancelled the order on my behalf and I got my money back a week later. In the meantime, I ordered my 7D from H Dew Cameras (also grey) at about the same price and it arrived on time.

Google "Simply Electronics" and read the horror stories of people waiting 7 weeks for a refund on their unfulfilled orders. I took the advice of one victim and got Kwikchex involved at an early stage to recover my money. I think they're getting used to doing this for SE customers.

They used to be OK (I got my 85mm a few years ago from them with no problems) but something has gone badly wrong with them in the last six months or so.

Edit: Forgot to mention, they're Hong Kong-based but you probably knew they're grey imports from the low prices. Nothing necessarily problematic with that - most HK dealers are excellent, just not this one.

Thank you, I was coming to that conclusion, and will probably wait until the end of the year and get a 5D III from a UK retailer, hopefully by then there may be a bit of a reduction in price.
Cameras are too expensive and complex to the risk not getting good service.

The last item I bought from Simply Electronics was the Extender 2x III in March 2012 for £340, it arrived very quickly without any problems, and works perfectly.
