1st day with the 1dx (wow)

Hello everyone, i just wanted to share my thoughts on the 1dx. I just picked one up one today and let me tell you that i am shocked at how good the iso performance is on this body. I expected this camera to be a 5d3 on steroids, im moving from a 5d3 and 1d mark iv and this camera is the best of both worlds (better lowlight performance than the 5d3 and faster shutter than the 1d mk iv)! that is all.

I'm envious. Really, that green monster of jealousy just popped up on my left shoulder, and the devil came up on my right and is informing me I need to commit some felonies so I can have one.

That said, the 5d3 performance is great too, easily besting the 5d2, although I've never shot any 1D so I can't speak for previous versions performance, ISO/AF or otherwise.

I've heard and read that the 5D MKIII is a better value than the 1DX.Probably true but I'd rather have one 1DX than two 5D MIIIs.

what blew me away (and still does) are the customization options

yes, the image quality is on a level all its own

but.. the customization makes this camera addictive - for example, i have THREE focus points (i have it configured for left zone/exp-point, AF-ON button - right zone/exp-point, */star button - and center point FULL AUTO, M.FnII button)

and, its like that also but top/center/FULL AUTO in vertical orientation
