HI all.

Long story short, 2 copies of 16-35 f/4l IS, both of them seem to make a crackling sound like there is too much lubricant or something sticking when zooming, especially at the wide end. It makes an audible noise when zooming. Does not appear to affect zoom performance much. Anyone encountered this noise? Again 2 copies with exact same issue. Thanks.

Before I read this post, I would have said that I never noticed anything like that. Then I tried it on my with my ear close to lens, and then I heard it. Doesn't bother me. I've had it since it came out and haven't had an issue with it.

Thing that caught my attention is that occasionally the lubrication will make a "pop" sound. That is not that often though, caught me off guard. The 1st copy I had "popped" a lot, 2nd copy much less though still occasionally.
