Was wondering whether anyone could indicate to me the current price of the 1D Mark IV in the US and/or UK please?

I looked on BHP in the US and found a rate of US$ 4,999 and some other shops claiming to sell for US$ 4,2XX. But I have also read here that people cannot get hold of them, so are those rates still valid and if so is it just a question of finding stock?

In the UK I found a rate of £3,687 (all found on google).

In the US, the two big online retailers (B&H and Adorama) list for $4999, but have no stock. They have gotten a few in occasionally, always sell out in a day or so. No one else seems to have any in stock, at least online.

UK prices seem to be about £3500

There were a ton of them available on amazon and ebay two days ago. I purchased a refurbish one for around $4k. If you can rely on the seller on either site, they are available. I contacted each seller with many questions and got one in two days, as I just got mine after work today.

Congratulations - you will be able to see why we all rate them now :)

Here is the workaround to get the equiv on M mode + ec + auto iso

Objective: Set set a minimum and maximum shutter speed. In Av mode if the shutter speed dropped below the mimimum then the ISO would be bumped up so that the minimum was reached again.

Method:

- enable safety shift (iso speed) C.Fn 1 - 8
- set shutter speed range C.fn 1 - 12 ( set the minimum shutter speed )
- set the Av value
- set the base iso value (can be L so then it acts as auto iso)
- set exp comp as needed (yes we get exp comp and auto iso this way)

So there you are - how to get auto iso with iso and Av limits set.

Thank you so much for the limit setting. That will actually come in very handy with what I'm going to be shooting with this (lotsa lotsa sports, various lighting). I played around with it this evening already I just love it. It will be a great compliment to the 5D Mark III. Now if only I could afford the 200 f/2.0L.......

The camera is still selling new at its introductory $5000 price in the USA.

I bought a like new used one two weeks ago from Craigslist with only 1445 shutter actuations for $3600. They are available for around that price if you have cash, it talks.

Mine is complete with box, and perfect. I saw no need to pay $1400 more for a new one , I saved a dollar per actuation. Too bad it didn't have 5000 actuations ;)

Thanks for all the feedback I appreciate it.

Seems like they are in pretty high demand still, which is understandable as it is a great camera at that price.

How much were the 1D Mk IVs when they first came out?

According to the graph and data on http://www.canonpricewatch.com/product/02859/Canon-EOS-1D-Mark-IV-price.html

They were just under $4900 when they first came out.

And yes, they are still occasionally in-stock at $4999. B&H was last in-stock 2 weeks ago and Adorama was last in-stock 5 days ago.

Re: Where have the 1D Mark IV's gone

Same situation here in Northen Europe. The only explanation my local camera store could give was that a lot of journalists are picking them up for the Olympics, as they weren't sure Canon could supply everyone with the 1DX in time.

I'd get one as soon as they have them in stock. I was lucky to get hold of one from a seldom shipment my local camera store received, and it sold out in a day. Apparently PJ's are hoarding them.
