No 12-24V Support with the new Charger !
and the old charger did not take the new batteries.
So use the new 1DX ll with old LP4N !

The new batteries LP E19 won't fit to the old charger even 80% is not possible ;-)

Interesting, CPS told me ~2 weeks ago that the LC-E4N can charge the LP-E19 battery, but only to 80%. I'll bump them on this one.

The old (1DX) charger cannot charge the new (1DX Mark II) batteries.

The new charger can charge the old batteries, but only to about 80%.

There is a slight loss of camera performance (fps) if you use the old batteries in the 1DX Mark II

Err - you are surprised by this?

Surely you have noted that Canon want £140 for £14 worth of batteries and have and will continue to do everything that they possibly can to keep ripping us off on accessory prices.

So their premier Pro camera is crippled in extreme locations - do you think Canon care? So long as you keep buying their GROSSLY overpriced batteries and chargers they are happy.

I knew about this a while back and this (plus other factors) is making me stick to my 1DX, things like this have put me off the Mk2. Yes it is a better camera (no doubt about that) but it is not a huge leap and reliability under any and all conditions is what you buy a 1 series for. In this respect the Mk2 is a fail - pity because in most respects it is a stunning camera.

I am off to Canada very soon and hope to be spending some time roughing it in the Rockies - Would I take a 1DX Mk2? Err I don't think so! My "OLD" 1DX will do just fine with my non OEM batteries and charger that I can hook up to a car battery.

I got the following answer back from Canon DK (CPS): "The combination of LP-E19 and LC-E4N can work together".
Pretty vague and non-committal.
