1dx mk2 antiflicker and continuous autofocus

Im taking pictures at a rodeo and using anti flicker bc of the lights and so far my autofocus is a complete failure. Will this camera not cobtinuously autofocus with anti flicker on. I used a 1dx last year and my autofocus at high speed was fine. Im holding down af on and just the shutter button and have terrible results
