24-70 II availability?

I'd be interested if anyone has information on the availability of the 24-70mm II.

Does anyone already have it? It looks like a terrific lens, I'd be interested if its performance in real life use is that much better compared to the first version....

Thanks! I heard of a availability time in 4-6 weeks, so that's about the same. I wasn't sure if it was maybe faster at other shops.... I guess we will see some pictures then as well

My local dealer said availability by the end of April so we'll cross our fingers for that. I'm considering holding on to my old 24-70mm, as the price for the new one is astronomical. Maybe in 2-3 months it will fall if the availability is high.

I ordered mine with my 5D3 and was told to expect the lens in mid April here in Australia. Unfortunately, this will be 3 weeks after I get the body. :-[

I expect it to be a great lens, but having been disappointed by the five different 24-70mm mark one's I've owned, I'm holding back until multiple reviewers I trust weigh in.

The lens is not due out until july now, it got delayed along with the 1DX.

I owned a copy of the 24-70 f2.8 Mark I. It is a great lens but heavy and bulky. You notice it only when you pack your Kiboko backpack and run out of space. I replaced it with a 24-105 f4. It is smaller and lighter. Good for travel. If you need the speed go for the Mark I. It is much cheaper.
