I googled

400mm DO II for sale

and found one on Amazon's site. $6400, seemed about right, ordered it. After waiting a week it got here and I pulled it out and started testing it. Didn't like the results (as an aside I own the Mark I version of this lens and I liked the results less than my lens).

Tried on 5DIII, nope; tried on 7D II, nope.

At this point I smell a rat, look for the Mark II on it, nowhere to be found, pull out my Mark I and they look identical. So I check the date code: UB == 2013. Pretty darned unlikely they built a Mark II in 2013 and waited until now to sell it.

I got sold a mark I lens for a mark II price. Noice. It's going back.

I googled 400mm DO II for sale.

Blame Google! It will bring up both Mark I and Mark II lenses.

You have to actually READ about the item you are buying.

Check your order on Amazon and see if it says MK II. If so, then the listing is in error. Ask Helen Oster from Adorama to get it fixed.

What does the box say?

Also look at the Exif data.

If the box does not say Mark II and the exif data is consistent, then you ordered the wrong item (check the page you used to order the item) or then accidentally sent the wrong item.

I don't think either company would pull a bait and switch. Other NYC operators might, but I don't think either of these would. Just my opinion.
