Hi everyone.
Just watched this :

Canon EOS 6D vs 5D Mark III Hands-on Comparison

and 5:30 sec into the clip it's said that "[you] can't rely on [5d] mark 3 screen [for focusing manually]... [as it] only shows DOF accurately to about f/2.5"

Does that mean that it is possible that after bringing something into focus using live view (at f/1.4) it may actually not be in focus on the actual photo??? Does anybody know anything more about this phenomenon?
Thank you.

"Screen" means focusing screen, looking through the viewfinder. That's true for all current DSLR bodies with the stock focusing screen. Some cameras have interchangeable focusing screens, including some that let you see the true depth of field even with fast lenses (at the cost of a dark viewfinder with slow lenses). The 5DIII focusing screen cannot be changed, the 6D's can - that's his point.

Live view will show the correct depth of field.

Its Discussing View-finder focusing screens and its true, the 5D3 isn't accurate faster than F/2.8. On my 5Dc, With the Eg-s Screen, I could clearly see my DOF all the way down to F/1.2, It was fantastic.

yep and the brightscreen is a whole world better than the EG-S only downside of the EG-S was the VF was quite dark with an f4 lens on but it was great with f2.8 and faster
