If I were to save money to buy one of these cameras, which would I go for to get the best deal as far as quality vs. price? I have read the specs on both cameras now that they are out on the Canon pages, and I would like to get some input from you guys who are way more experienced than I am. Disregard shooting style or interest. What I am asking is the difference in quality, and second comes the question if the difference in quality justifies the price difference?

Just if you have time to share your reading of the specs.

Are those differences worth >$3K? Depends on what $3K is worth to you...

Thank you:)

I guess what I am really asking is a translation of these specs:) I am not experienced enough to really understand what these differences mean in real life. My point is that as far as Norwegian prices are concerned both these cameras are quite expensive, but one more so than the other. Thus the relative increase in price for the DX is smaller than... thus the question if the 1DX is still justifiable given the great specs on the III.

BTW: Batterycapacity is not listed yet on the norwegian pages, but are just listed as not available yet.

Answer: only if you're a professional photographer and can offset the huge cost of a 1DX against revenues/tax

Or: someone for whom photography is a hobby, and who has lots of disposable income. ;)

Second dig of the day at the amateurs .... and not based on research or even a straw poll ... :o :o :o

Two amateurs who can afford it are active on this thread >:( >:( >:(

The 1DX is cheaper than the lens I have just bought ::) ::) ::)

Does anyone have a good grasp on the difference between the HDR function of the 5D3 vs the Multiple Exposure feature of the 1Dx? I don't fully understand the differences... aren't they the same thing? I thought they were until Canon marketed them to be two different things. HDR is a product of combining multiple exposures, that I know. So what's the difference? Does the 1Dx have HDR then?

Both cameras have the multi-exposure feature (superimposing exposures). Only the 5DIII has in-camera HDR, where multiple images are 'blended' to increase dynamic range. The 5DIII also aligns those HDR images.

There were several threads and discussion on the (from the critics, not that is wrong to be critical.) forum about the dynamic range of Nikon vs. Canon, and in their view the former was better than the latter to date. What is your reading on this aspect now? Have Canon delivered a kick ass DR on the III or the X?

Disclaimer: I know that my questions might seem to some to be rather uninformed. That might be true, but I have not found any other forum on these subjects with so many extremely knowledgable pepole. So untill people tell me to shut up, I keep asking questions, and actually learing quite a bit on the way. As when you gave me an answer on the fluorite question.
Again, thanks.
