5D2 & 1D4 for 1DX?

I don't is this will help but I'd rather have 1 1DX than 2 5D MKIIIs.

Yeah, I mean, why have two separate cameras when one will do the job of both models? You can only take one photo at a time .

I wouldn't leave the studio to go to a location job with only one camera body. Ever. Ever...
Your current combination of a 5D2 and a 1D4 was until a few months ago THE stellar pair of bodies.

While the 1DX is unquestionably a strong, tangible upgrade, any self respecting professional would have your current setup over just one 1DX body.

I say keep 'em.

I always love these threads when they move to a second page and drift. Quote from the OP:

So it appears he's an enthusiast, and can probably live without his gear for a week or two if in the unlikely event it breaks. Probably makes more sense to have the best body you can afford and get better shots 99% of the time from a single body and live without 1% of the time in unlikely event it's in for repair.

Having the latest technology is great. But is there anything wrong with the 5D2 and 1D4? If not, might as well save up the money and wait for the next generation of bodies. The ones you have still hold their ground at this point in time.

This so much. I mean, do as you please, but it seems a little extreme. Rolling with 1Ds III and 1D IV and two 550D's for studio work that goes online (them little things weigh nothing and have a million shots between them and they cost nothing, also the files are small and faster to process). But if it's just for a laugh you might as well get the best
