5D3 - question - deleting files off both cards

On the 5D3, when I delete files from card using the camera's menu (i.e. without taking the cards out) it deletes the files (except protected files) from the CF card but the SD card files are still there. (I have the camera set to write to both cards simultaneously.) Is there a way to get it to delete both cards without taking the cards out? I looked in the manual and checked different options, can't seem to figure it out. Thanks.

I believe this will work.

Push:
1-Menu button

2-Use the joystick to reach the "Format card" option

3-Push the Set button after highlighting Format card
A screen with a 1 and a 2 appears. If you look closely you will see the 2 is the silhouette of an SD card (the 1 is shows the metal clips of the CF card).

4-Use the big wheel to highlight (via a yellow rectangle) the 2.

5-Push the Set button and it will warn you "All data will be lost!" (I love the exclamation point)

6-Now move the big wheel to the right such that OK is highlighted via the yellow rectangle, then push Set to delete.

Thank you! That worked. However, wondering if there is a way the "erase images" function (on the blue "play 1" menu) can be set to delete files from both cards at once. As opposed to having to scroll around to a different menu.

I guess it is a bit of a pain, well at times I think so, I rec to SD (JPG) and CF (RAW), like you at times I want to chimp my shots and remove what is defo a BIN image, and then change the playback card to do the same on the other card, guess the ultimate option would be a menu item to select delete from one or both, I guess the (without trying) advice given deletes all images from both cards? As opposed to dealing them one by one from both cards at the same time.

However there are times that deleting from both maybe a bad things, i.e the oops moment!
