5dm3 custom shooting modes useless?

Why? Because anything that gets changed while in a custom mode, say a focus point, reverts to the registered value when the body goes in to sleep mode. Hope that's something that can be remedied in firmware...

It's been remedied - at this point, the problem is with the wetware. There's a setting to automatically update the camera user settings.

Here's a hint - try p.332 of the manual.

Alternate term might be PEBKAC, although we might need to modify that to be PEBC (not as catchy or easy to say though...)
