70-300 4-5.6 IS (Not L) Parts on Backorder

Hey Everyone,

I'm having my Canon 70-300 IS (not L) repaired, and the parts (inner housing) are on backorder. Anyone else experiencing this issue? Is Canon trying to phase this lens out?
