My only complaint for the 80D is the lack of image review workflow customization options.

From active shooting position on the 6D or 5D series all I need to do is hit the dedicated magnify button (on the 6D) or customized set button (on 5D series) with my right thumb and the camera immediately zooms into 100% at selected focus point (this is via a secondary image review custom setting) you can then just half press the shutter release to banish the image review screen.
1) hit magnify button,
2) hit shutter release
This simple two step process can be completed in no more than 2 seconds with hands never leaving active shooting position. (it may take a second longer on the 5Ds/R where images do not render instantly due to hardware constraints)

With the 80D there are two workflows
Option B: (B for BAD)
1) hit image view
2) hold magnify to gradually zoom in
3) use the direction buttons to pan across the image
This is a 5-6 second process if not longer

Option A: (A for ALMOST AS BAD)
1) hit image view
2) move my left hand away from active shooting (i.e. supporting the lens, if it's a lighter lens) or my right hand (i.e. from the grip, if it is a heavy lens which would be too front-heavy to support via hand-grip alone)
3) Use the touch screen to pinch zoom
4) Use the touch screen to pan across image to the position of the selected AF point in case my pinch zoom was slightly off target
5) move my hand back to the active shooting position
6) half press the shutter release to banish image review
This is a 3-4 second process, and due to moving hands away from shooting position adds risk of missing my next shot.

Proposed firmware update:
Add magnify to set button customization (to essentially add a dedicated magnify button)
Add zoom to selected AF point as option for magnify customization

Yeah, you're right, can't understand why Canon doesn't implement those customization options you find on the full frame bodies in 80d. What would also be welcome and surely possible via firmware upgrade is Zebras and Fokus Peaking.

Canon is not likely to add more features. They place cameras in brackets which have features according to price. Buying one from a lower price bracket and hoping they will upgrade it to high end features generally results in disappointment.

So, if you purchase a item, be it a camera or a car, don't expect upgrades to come out adding high end features from a more expensive model, even if its just software. Make sure what you select has features you need.

I wish the M series had remote tethering that would work with my pc via USB. I've never bought one because they do not and apparently will not have it.
