The rumour mill is churning out that Adobe is preparing to bid on visual effects software developer The Foundry for £200m (around $302 million USD).

The Foundry is best known for their visual effects tool, Nuke, which has been used on most big blockbusters to produce visual effects that blur the line of what is real. Some of its most recent users include Guardians of the Galaxy, Edge of Tomorrow, and Gravity.

The Foundry has a many other programs including a 3D painting tool, a 3D concept designer, a lighting and look designer, and more. All of these would prove to be valuable assets under Adobe.

If this deal goes through, Adobe could potentially become the most powerful company in the post-production game. What do you think?

that sounds like an awful lot of money, wonder how much the CC subs will be ;)

The really interesting thing about this thread is that the original poster (now "Guest") obviously has gotten himself banned the second after writing this, maybe there's a software virus targeting people wondering ìf "Adobe could potentially become the most powerful company in the post-production game" :p ?

I have not been banned and no there is secret plot to take out those writing about Adobe taking over the post-production industry...as far as I know*shifty eyes*. Thanks for reading! Glad people are following the Cinema News section!

Checking the log, the original poster was deleted due to a different post which was judged as spam. This post was not removed.
