any (new) rumours about t4i?

I suspect that almost all Canon products are delayed by 6 months due to the tsunami and earthquake. So expect the t4i by Q3 2012

Are these Rumors of babies or real babies we can count on? Have you looked at Baby Rumors and checked out the DXO numbers on your wives. I hear there are some good youtube videos...and a few reviews you can trust...or not. I hope the babies won't turn out soft.

it really depends... the 1Dx was announced last oct. and still isn't out, while the 5Dmk3 was announced in feb. and came out mid march.
However, there is a big reveal comign on april 16th and 17th at NAB, but i doubt the new 600d(t4i) or 70d would be announced.
the other option would be to just pick up the 60d or 7d for cheap now. or a t2i.

The 2Ti body is $560 at Amazon, where as the T3i body is only $624. For the extra $64, I'd rather just get the newer model if I had to buy it today. But I'm really hoping to wait as long as I can, at least try and push it to mid April to see if there are any announcements. I also dont know about the pricing. If the T4i kit is priced at $1000 for example, then I would definitely buy the T3i, as this will be my first DSLR, and I have a lot to learn before blowing big bucks. But I would be seriously bummed if I bought the T3i for $624, then a month later, the T4i is selling for $700 for example. I would rather get the T4i at that price because of the better sensor and silent auto focus. The kit lens sounds sweet too. I have to buy a camera by the end of April. THOUGHTS?!

addame, mummel, it looks like we're all in a similar position. 
I'm planning to purchase my first DSLR in the next few weeks and have been trying to determine what to do. Here's my approach:
Waiting to see what Canon does in the next 15 or so days (now through NAB). If they announce the T4i, great! If they don't, I'll likely pick up the 60D or the T3i. They are both great cameras and each will offer an opportunity go through the DSLR learning curve.
My primary use will be video which means I will be swayed by that feature set more than anything else.

I can't find something I read about coupons for the T3i expiring today (3/31/12). It would have been in Canon's interest to keep any news of the T4i close to the hip if this is true. My fingers are crossed that info 'leaks' to CR early next week.

I am waiting on the 7D2. There was a thread some time back and it died a natural death
I dont have a deadline, but my 300D died and I do not want to buy a 7D so I will wait it out. In the mean time I am hoping that I dont have to wait till Christmas to get the 7D2.
I somehow get the feeling the T4i/650D will show up sooner than the 7D2.

I got sick of waiting for the t4i, so I sold my Canon gear and bought a Nikon D5100. There are $100-$250 instant rebates on the various kits. You could consider doing this as well.
(I am not trying to start a holy war of Canon vs. Nikon, by the way, it just seems like the low-end for dSLR buyers is a bit confusing right now)

Since by now I have four Canon lenses and a bunch of 58mm filters (and one close up converter), I'll wait until a new Canon crop sensor comes out: if it performs comparably to the Nikon crop sensor in terms of ISO, DR, and color range, I'll upgrade either to the t4i or 70D, otherwise will keep taking pics until my 1100D dies and then sell my lenses and filters and move to Nikon.

Well, the T2i and T3i all retailed for $900ish, so, I'd be stunned if Canon dropped a brand new T4i for $700. Especially with their latest pricing pattern. I'd bet more on $999 than $700.Koen_S1 said:
As for filming, the 60D is better for a fairly simple reason...it has the ability to go in 1/3 ISO stops, which becomes critical for video. You want to use ISO's in multiples of 160 (seems native for the camera), and so the 60D allows you to use 160, 320, 640, and 800...a T3i only allows you 800. There are some interesting tests with this...but, basically, video at ISO 640 looks better than video at ISO 100. Multiples of 125 look particularly awful.

Also, it has the top LCD, which becomes something you'll use more in video. And, if you ever have to do hand-held video, you'll get much better results from the 60D, since it feels more natural in your hand.
