Anyone Pre-Order the 5d3 from Canon Directly

I know a lot of folks going BH/Adorama or local, but how many have gone shop.canon ? I called them and while they did not know how much stock they had, the website says Ship date March 26th?

Anyone know if there's a better shot at ordering from them directly? (Since price is the same everywhere...)

Good idea! Especially since there is no price difference (unless Canon charges sales tax?).

Too late for me to try, as I happily expect my 5D3 to arrive from Amazon between Apr 6-9.

Its usually frowned on for the manufacture to sell things earlier or cheaper than their retail chain. Sadly, I suspect it won't be a better choice, but it won't necessarily be any worse.

Good idea for those who want it ASAP .. not many people will go for it so there will be stock... the reason might end up being the extra 6-15% in sales tax they will pay depending on where you live. Canon will Charge it, Adorama/Amazon/BH will not.
