What do people think will be the best feature or outcome of the release of the 5DIII?


Even better than any potential increase in dynamic range, will be the end to the incessant postings asking "should I buy a 5DII or wait for the 5DIII". I figure that we likely have 6 months of quiet repose before people start to ask whether they should wait for the 5D4.

Personally, I intend to wait for the 5D Mk V which I believe will include artificial intelligence far superior to my natural intelligence, making it possible for me to capture good images. ;D

AF system will undoubtedly set the Mk III apart from the current Mk II

As a 7D owner who traded up from a T2i, the move from 9 AF points to 19 plus all the new features that the 7D has would make me think twice about buying a 5D Mk II. Although I want to get a FF body in a year or so, if the AF system on the new Mk III is so much better than what I even have now, then I'll save up harder and wait longer to get the newer model.

Isn't this question best asked on March 2nd, when (possibly) we'll know what the features are--or maybe even later when we have some testing and reviews to tell us how well those features work?

The best part will be the flood of 5D mark II's on the "used" market. I put used in quotes because a camera only a couple of years old isn't "used" in my books. Oh I love how marketing and the idea (fear) of technology advancement make us all believe an incredible camera is already dated
