Best Primes on a crop for DSLR video?

Seeing how powerful Canon DSLRs are at video compared to Nikon, I've decided that I want to take a shot at the highly popular DSLR cinematography.

The only lenses in my armory though...are kit lenses :D (for the win...not really)

I know that Canon offers great primes such as the 28mm f/1.8 and the 50mm f/1.8

but I want to know how well do the third party lenses (Rokinon, Sigma etc) perform for video.

Anyone here use primes as their main lenses for video (and photography as well)
