Butterflies, Moths and Assorted Insects...

I hope we will have a +/- regular rainy season here and January - February and I may be able to post more species (and better photos if I attache the zoom!) of butterflies but for now they are just few.

Fun on the lanai: Last week my wife complained that a caterpillar is eating her lemon again. Today I found two pupae of Papilio xuthus!
Edit: This should be our official Christmas tree :D!

I like both, the second one, too - somehow.
Look at the proboscis, a really nice arch ;)
For me, it is good to see a photo like the second because it's the reality that often a butterfly is partially obscured by the surrounding plant life.
What I want to say is there is an emotional value which I think we've all experienced. It might be the feeling of anticipating to see it fly to the next flower.
