I need a second 1-Series Body.
What do you think? buy now one more 1DX or wait for the next generation?
I don't want to buy now and in march 2015 comes out a new body...

How do you feel about your existing 1DX?
If you feel there is something lacking or deficient then it may be better to wait. I am very happy with my 1DX and cannot see any way to make significant improvements on it - but then I said that with my 1D4! Whatever happens your existing camera/cameras will not suddenly take bad images because the Mk2 is out.

Purely speculation on my behalf, but I doubt the 1DX II will be out, or even announced, by March 2015.

If you need a second 1D as a backup or secondary lens shooter, then just get another 1D X or if money is a little tight then grab a 1D Mark IV.

Both the 1D X and 1D Mark IV are very reasonably priced at the moment.

Have fun!

Based on advice (for lesser mortals) in another thread (http://www.canonrumors.com/forum/index.php?topic=23719.0), I would make a completely unqualified recommendation for another 1Dx.

Having two the same makes everything simple, either will do, neither is a favourite.

I'm not in a situation to do this with photography, but I apply it every else that's practical - computers, travel gear, clothes.

In support of this I agree that you will not see a 1Dx II, until the latter half of next year even if it is launched in March. Secondly, there will surely be a decent market for a used Mk I, when you sell both!

Buying for business, it's just a tool that either earns an appropriate return or not. As an individual, emotion and irrationality tend to creep in to the purchase and sale decision, making a rational decision more difficult.

Just my opinion, sometimes I listen to my own advice, and sometimes I don't!

If you think you miss something from your 1Dx then you should wait and see but, if you feel satisfied with the current one and need one, just take it.

Unless you need all of the features of the 1Dx (low light especially) just get a 7D2 as a cheap secondary. It's frame rate is almost the same and it has a similar if not better focus system. One bonus is the anti-flicker function which the 1Dx does not have. It strikes me that you never mentioned what kind of use you need your 1Dx for which is important in determining if another of the same is the best option.

Me thinks you are just looking for justification on a decision you have pretty much have already made.
