Flickr's unfair statistics are an excellent excuse to get outraged about a subject that really is a non-issue.
There are no Nikon or Canon smartphones. All the people in the First World are carrying around an Android or an iOS device and their markets are expanding in China, India and Latin America. Samsung is the world leader in smartphones. it would be surprising if Flickr's figures would not reflect this somehow.

maybe it's 100% of 20 something city types.. but that is a very long way from everyone.. I seem to remember market penetration is about 50% so far.
