Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM

Hi guys,
I finally got my 1.4xTCIII, the AF does not work, so I tried the "tape" method last night, basically you place a small piece of Sellotape over the three pins to the left of the lens side of the TC and hey presto, AF works.
Now I really need to get out with my new combo!!!!

I can't wait to collect my new 1.4xTC III in a couple of days, it will become a permanent fixture on my 100-400L Mk I, I will be venturing out this weekend to the local wetland hides, so wading birds with some flying raptors are my expected subjects. Here's hoping for some good quality images from the combo, would anyone have any tips or recomendations of this combo on a 70D?
