Re: Canon EF135mm f/2L USM

This is a reject but the 100% crop shows exactly why I love this lens so much.

Just got this amazing lens.

The contrast of the dark tones in his glasses really make the image pop, but compositionally his placement is slightly off in my opinion. I also don't care to look at this type of person in hyper closeup, but to each their own...that's just my personal preference. This is certainly the type of image the 135 can do as well or better than any other lens...but then it can do many types of images that way...yes I'm a rabid fan of the lens!

Dustin's image is nice, I commented on it in another thread.

Re: Canon EF135mm f/2L USM

I posted this on the 5DIII thread - but the lens made the shot IMO... The sun was already down - just dusk lighting to the rear and left side... On second thought, shooting at 1250 ISO made it possible - thanks 5DIII! * 1/200 * f/2.8 * +1/3 EV * 1250 ISO * -2/3 on the little 90EX for fill *

Nice and very sharp ... no wonder the 135 f/2 is called the Lord of the Red Rings.

Fantastic sharpness, and that little bit of fill flash is nicely subtle.

Re: Canon EF135mm f/2L USM

Thanks for the posts and comments in this thread (and other 135 threads). It helped me choose a prime.
I was considering the 85L, 135L and 200 2,8L, but landed on the 135 L. I’m very pleased with it.

But the challenge is how to bring the photographer up to the level of the 135 ;)

Some samples.

Quite a professional looking shot!
