If you look at this thread, and others like the newly started Sigma 50mm f1.4 Art thread and the Zeiss Otus thread, almost all images are shot wide open. With Gary it has become a trade mark, so it gives his images identity. But for a lot of the others, I think many of them would benefit from a slightly deeper DOF.
But I clearly see the logic; If you buy a f1.2 lens, it´s because you want to shoot it at f1.2 and the only way to master this thin DOF is to practice, practice and then practice :![]()
