According to the TIPA jury, the EOS 5D Mark III, awarded "Best Video DSLR in 2012," further improves on the experience offered by the 5D Mark II, a camera that "changed the landscape of digital photography." Delivering both high-quality still images and video in a single camera, the 5D Mark III was praised for its newly designed 61-point AF system and "incredibly high ISO sensitivity," as well as such movie functions as manual exposure control.

Canon and Nikon have played their cards, who would compete with them?

Have they played their cards though - hardly a week goes by without Canon or Sony talking about new video cameras on the way (I see Sony as a bigger potential video player at this point). How about the new version of the video 1DX? Is that going to be worse than the 5DIII?

Are the TIPA awards credible awards? Are they truely independent? Each company makes alot of publicity about any TIPA award they have to. It's based on a number of magazines reporters, do they have a credible history is discerning the best equipment? Is it a good guide to the best available equipment?

I do believe this is Premature, but considering they probably had Models in advance, this could be he only way I see them illegitimately making these claims.

Besides, there one in all anyway.

Panasonic and Sony.

Also, for a lower price (although NOT a DSLR):

But that said I do agree that it seems to have nicer video overall than the D4,D800,1DX or the older DSLR. (The GH2 with hack though does do some things better.... and if you need reach some of the Canon rebels actually do better).

Well Brian, that is because the mkiii is a dslr with video capability but the 1DC is a cinema dslr, so a different category. Lol...canon strategy is working, have so many camera they are the only one in each category!
